Zionab was the perfect base camp for our adventurous family of four during Thanksgiving week. April is a great communicator, which made the run up to our trip very easy. And the house itself – Wow. The perfect balance between being real and making it easy to drop-in. For example, every drawer in the kitchen is labeled, and yet those labels disappear as soon as you know your way around. The beds and baths were so comfy, and the layout let us be together in the common areas while getting set up for the next day’s canyon adventure. The art is evocative of the amazing setting, and the ironwork (by George, of Blacksmith game) is both beautiful and functional. Plus the Big Orange Binder of Kanab area adventures was terrific. Maps, tips, topos, it is like a clown car where more and more stuff just keeps appearing. We borrowed April’s trekking poles, used the basketball goal, and hiked near and far using Zionab’s tips and tricks. Definitely an A-plus experience.
